The device connects to a circuit under test and gives an immediate visual and audible signal, a green LED for a healthy circuit and a red LED with a buzzer for a short circuit, so faults can be identified without specialized training or equipment. The paper covers the circuit's operating principle, component selection, and printed circuit board layout, and reports bench tests in which the device reliably distinguished short-circuit from fault-free conditions. This paper describes the design, construction, and testing of a low-cost, relay-based short circuit detector built from common electronic components.
